As every year at this time, the Brasserie de l’Abbaye du Val-Dieu is enhancing its Excellence range with two new exceptional releases. This edition highlights Calvados casks from Maison Père Magloire and Côte-Rôtie casks, selected to elevate the richness and complexity of our Val-Dieu Triple.
A unique union between two worlds that could not be more different
The concept of barrel-aged beers is based on a union as bold as it is unexpected between two worlds that could not be more different. First, a beer brewed artisanally in keeping with the monastic tradition, at the heart of Val-Dieu Abbey.
Then, ageing in genuine barrels that previously held exceptional spirits and wines from around the world, for one year in the Abbey’s cellars. True brewing expertise that bears the traces of a heritage that transcends borders.
This unique ageing stage gives each edition a distinctive character. The barrel’s noble aromas subtly infuse the beer, bringing it depth and complexity: woody, vanilla, spicy or fruity notes depending on the cask’s origin. An ever-evolving aromatic palette that turns every sip into a unique sensory experience.
Each vintage in the Excellence range is offered as a limited, numbered edition, like a work of liquid art. It embodies the meeting of brewing heritage, the patience of time, and the modernity of innovation. More than a beer, it is an experience.

Excellence Calvados
Val-Dieu Triple meets the heritage of Père Magloire Calvados. A symbol of Norman expertise since 1821, Maison Père Magloire is one of the oldest and most prestigious Calvados houses. Based in the heart of the Pays d’Auge, it perpetuates an art of blending and ageing of rare finesse. Patiently aged in oak casks from this Norman flagship, our Val-Dieu Triple absorbs notes of candied apples, noble wood and a hint of caramel. Two areas of expertise brought together in an exceptional brew. A distinctive creation, available in limited quantities.
Excellence Grand Vin
Val-Dieu Triple is elevated in contact with a legendary terroir: Côte-Rôtie. Born on the steep slopes of the Rhône Valley, the Côte-Rôtie appellation—one of France’s most prestigious—ranks among the country’s finest. Its wines, produced mainly from Syrah, stand out for their aromatic depth and refined elegance. Aged in these exceptional barrels, our Val-Dieu Triple is enriched with rare, deep aromas, echoing the richness and character of this legendary terroir. Ripe fruit, gentle spices and refined wood compose the unique sensory profile of this exceptional beer, born of rare expertise and a bold union. A rich heritage to savour in a limited edition.

Available as a two-bottle version, or one bottle accompanied by two glasses, these gift sets combine elegance, authenticity and sustainability.
